Th350 Detent Cable Leak

Seems to me that the detent cable does. Ct2827 a new kickdown cable detent boot for the th350 turbo 350 and th350c. Please check to be sure your kickdown cable uses a boot type seal not an oring. I currently have a leak coming from the cable dripping on front.

It seems to leak a bunch of transmission fluid after setting for a period of time. It had no sign of front or rear seal leakage so i replaced the filter and pan gasket and then test drove it for several days.

This week i decided to put an end to this leaky madness. On both of my th350 s i have a rubber sleeve type seal on the cable. In japan especially in the city there are so many traffic lights and stop signs that the kickdown can actually be completely removed. Some have just a square cut type o ring sometmes they dont fit right.

Does it seem pssible that it could be losing that much fluid from this location when the car isn t even running.
